Week 7 Picks

Ansonia @ Watertown
I'm calling this one as the upset of the week. Not because I think Watertown is a better team, but because Watertown has done it before to Ansonia. Kris1, I'm sure you will let me know how foolish I am on Saturday. Watertown 35 Ansonia 28.

Crosby @ Wolcott
Crosby by 30. Nuff Said.

H.C. @ Woodland
The Hawks are going to pound the private school princess'. HC is bad and Woodland gets better. WRHS 35 HC 7

S. H. @ Kennedy (sat)
0-0 Tie

Torrington @ Naugatuck
Naugatuck has no business losing this game, but with Plasky at the helm anything is possible.
THS 28 Naugy 6.

Wilby @ Seymour
SEYMOUR!!!!!

P.S. Fainer opened his blog back up. Does it remind you of anything? He made it just like this blog. What a clown.

Ansonia 46
Watertown 21

Final

To be honest, because of that loss to the Indians in 2005, this game worried me. Watertown always plays Ansonia tough especially up there on the hill.

HC-Woody a good or bad game depending on how you look at it, and I'm not talking about the result. HC's offense looked pretty good all night actually, and somehow they only managed the 14 points, 7 in regulation.

Woodland's offense, on the other hand, awful. 3 drives in the red zone from the 2nd to 4th quarter all resulted in turnovers on downs in which they ended up in like 4th and 12 situations. The 4th time resulted in a Fowler pick. But for some reason HC felt like they needed to pass on the play right after Pagliaro's pick of Fowler, and Jack DeBiase picked off Plourde. The 5th time finally was the charm with a 25 yard touchdown pass from Fowler to Gillette to tie it at 7. Fowler actually had a 34 yard field goal try to win it but it was wide left.

In the OT, both missed a field goal try. HC scored on a Cronin 3 yard run on 2nd and goal. Woody lost on probably the worst no-call of pass interference I've ever seen, as Favoccia was pretty much dragged down by his arm as the pass was coming. But regardless, the Hawks really didn't deserve to win, as they had dropped 2 touchdown passes earlier in the game, one of them being probably the worst drop I've ever seen.

It was a good game, but in a Pop Warner sense, not a high school sense. Anyway this really throws a fork into the Copper, as Naugy, Torrington, and Woodland are all 2-1.
